On February 23, 2025, Taiwan Network Information Center (TWNIC) and Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote the development of the Internet in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region, as well as to jointly promote the cooperation in the areas of network governance, technical training, and security enhancement.
The signing ceremony was held at APNIC 59, Malaysia, where TWNIC CEO Jo-fan Yu and APNIC Director Jia-Rong Low signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties, and the cooperation will further enhance the depth of cooperation between the two parties in Internet resource management and technology development.
Deepening Cooperation to Create an Open and Stable Internet Environment Together
Both TWNIC and APNIC are important Internet management organizations in the Asia-Pacific region, and both parties have maintained close cooperation in technical exchanges, resource management and community development for a long time. The signing of this MoU further establishes the future direction of cooperation between the two organizations, covering the Internet development in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region, promoting IPv6 deployment and digital infrastructure improvement, and strengthening the network resource management mechanism to enhance the technology application and integration capabilities. In addition, the two organizations will jointly organize technical training courses and seminars to enhance the professional capabilities of the technical community, and support the Internet Security Enhancement Program, which is dedicated to promoting an open, transparent and secure Internet governance model. In the future, the two organizations will actively encourage Taiwan’s Internet professionals to participate in the APNIC Scholarship Program and international forums to enhance international participation and promote the development of the global Internet.
Working Together to Create a New Internet Era
This cooperation marks the further strengthening of the partnership between TWNIC and APNIC. In the future, both parties will continue to deepen the cooperation, and jointly promote the development of the Internet in the Asia-Pacific region, and create a more secure, stable and innovative Internet environment.
