Introduction to DN Dispute Resolution Mechanism

Professional and Impartial .tw/.台灣 Domain Name Dispute Resolution Mechanism
With the rapid development of the Internet, domain names are no longer merely tools for directing users to websites. They have become important symbols of corporate brands, commercial applications, and digital assets. Due to their uniqueness, domain names have also become one of the contested targets in the business world.
To provide a more efficient and credible approach to handling domain name disputes—aside from the option of filing a lawsuit—TWNIC established in 2001 the Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy and Implementation Guidelines (TWDRP), a fast-track, non-litigation resolution mechanism.
This mechanism is operated by "DN Dispute Resolution Service Providers" accredited by the TWNIC and cases are adjudicated by "Panel" who are qualified to handle domain name disputes. These panelist adhere to principles of neutrality and fairness when reviewing disputes between registrants and complainants.
