Second Level Chinese IDN Reserved Words:

  1. Names related to the exercise of national sovereignty. (Provided by the Ministry of Digital Development (formerly the National Development Council))
  2. Names related to Taiwan's county and city administrative divisions. (Provided by the Ministry of Digital Development (formerly the National Development Council))
    • (1) Names that include counties, cities, and provinces, as well as those that exclude them, are reserved.
    • (2) Names that include townships, cities, and districts are reserved; those that exclude them are not reserved.
  3. Full and abbreviation names of government agencies. (Provided by the Ministry of Digital Development (formerly the National Development Council))
    • (1) Full names: In accordance with Chinese character restrictions, only names with 14 or fewer Chinese characters are reserved.
    • (2) Abbreviations: Names that are sufficient to represent the government agency and avoid confusion
  4. School names (Provided by the Ministry of Education)
    • (1) Full names of all schools (public and private) are reserved.
    • (2) The full names of colleges and universities, excluding "national," "private," and "public," will be reserved.
    • (3) For college and university name abbreviations, each institution will retain only one abbreviation.
  5. TWNIC Reserved Words (Provided by TWNIC)
    • (1) Current Chinese SLDs:
      商業、組織、教育、政府、軍事、國防、網路、公司、網絡、機構、個人、國際
    • (2) ICANN's sponsored gTLDs in Chinese:
      航空、資訊、博物館、名字、專業、企業、合作社 (the release of these reserved words will be announced separately).
    • (3) Domain names registered under the Chinese domain name pilot program will continue to be used:
      台大、臺大、中大、交大、興大、中正、成大、中山、政大、清大、東華、東師、花師、中研院
    • (4) TWNIC Registration Authority Name:
      台灣網路資訊中心、臺灣網路資訊中心、台網中心、臺網中心、註冊管理機構、受理登錄機構、代理登錄機構、網域名稱註冊管理、註冊管理、網域名稱註冊、網域名稱
    • (5) Others:

  5. Full English names and three-character abbreviations of country names

Note: The above-listed generic Chinese and English domain name reserved words are prohibited from registration. Any requests for registration will be handled in accordance with the decision of the TWNIC Domain Name Committee.
